Ordinance Enforcement
Some residents may consider this their least favorite department in our Township, but to others, it may be just the opposite. Although some people may argue this viewpoint, this is possibly the most difficult job to be done here in the Township.
Residents of our community may not realize this, but our Township has adopted Ordinances which are not meant to infringe on residents rights but to improve the quality of life in our Township. There are citizens who may feel this job is unnecessary based on their perception of being picked on. These people may be Township residents who are in violation of our ordinances. For example, they may have an unlicensed vehicle(s)on their property, have litter strewn through their yards, or may have done construction without a permit. The Township recognizes that all our property owners make choices to do with their property as they believe they should be allowed. However, who wants to live next to someone who allows trash, old tires, junk cars, etc… to adorn their yard?? Though the majority of the people who live here in the Township follow the rules, there are some that don’t.
The point we would like everyone to realize and remember, is this… our Township Ordinance Enforcement Officer is just doing his job, it’s not personal. The Ordinances Comstock Township has in place, are intended to help the residents as a whole and ensure we share with anyone visiting our community, the pride we have to live here in Comstock Township.
